ATHLETICS: Ryan Munro '19 Wins USports Award

Congratulations to Ryan Munro '19, the recent recipient of the USports Academic All-Canadian award. This award is given to student-athletes who achieve an academic average of 80 or higher while playing on a university varsity team. Ryan, a current Acadia University student, was recognized for this award the evening of November 26 at a virtual ceremony.

Ryan is grateful to Grammar for preparing him for the rigorous schedule that comes with playing sport in university. Although this year is challenging in many ways, he realizes how fortunate he is:

"Achieving the Academic All-Canadian award definitely means a lot to me because it rewards the hard work I have put in on and off the court. Having gone to Grammar, I was prepared for the course load and able to manage my time with basketball and my academics. Being able to play basketball is definitely a privilege, especially at the university level, and I am happy to be playing it at Acadia University. This year we are unable to have a season due to COVID-19, but our coaches and the school have helped make the best of the situation by allowing us to attend in-person classes and practice in the gym as much as possible."

Kudos to Ryan for continuing to excel on the basketball court as well as in the classroom.
